Intended Parents

Choosing to pursue egg donation is a deeply personal decision. For some intended parents, it comes after years of infertility, loss, or medical challenges. For others, it is the path that makes parenthood possible from the very beginning. Wherever you are in your journey, Family Origins Egg Donation is here to provide thoughtful support, clear guidance, and a calm, compassionate experience throughout the process.

We understand that egg donation is more than a medical journey. It is emotional, hopeful, complex, and deeply human. Our goal is to help intended parents feel informed, supported, and genuinely cared for while taking the next steps toward building their family.

Who We Support

We work with intended parents of all backgrounds and family structures, including:

  • Heterosexual couples
  • LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples
  • Single intended parents
  • Intended parents pursuing parenthood through surrogacy
  • Those navigating infertility, diminished ovarian reserve, premature menopause, recurrent IVF loss, or genetic concerns

Some intended parents come to us at the very beginning of their exploration, while others are already working with a fertility clinic and are ready to begin the donor selection process.

No matter where you are in the journey, we strive to create an experience that feels personal, respectful, and supportive.

Our Approach to Egg Donation

At Family Origins Egg Donation, we believe the donor selection process should feel thoughtful and human — never rushed or transactional.

We take a boutique, relationship-centered approach to supporting intended parents and egg donors alike. We carefully review and screen donors, provide guidance throughout the matching process, and remain available to answer questions and provide support as the journey moves forward.

We know that selecting an egg donor can feel both exciting and emotionally overwhelming at times. Our role is to help simplify the process, provide reassurance when needed, and help intended parents move forward feeling grounded and informed.

Choosing an Egg Donor

Finding the right donor is a deeply personal experience, and every intended parent approaches the process differently.

Some intended parents prioritize shared physical characteristics or ethnicity. Others feel drawn to a donor’s personality, values, interests, or life experiences. Many are surprised by the emotional connection they feel when they come across the right profile.

Our donor profiles are designed to provide a thoughtful, well-rounded picture of each donor and may include:

  • Childhood and current photos
  • Educational background
  • Interests and hobbies
  • Personality insights
  • Medical and family health history
  • Genetic screening information
  • Personal written responses

We are available throughout the process to answer questions, provide perspective, and help intended parents navigate the decision-making process in a way that feels supportive and manageable.

Donor Screening

The health, safety, and well-being of everyone involved is incredibly important to us.

Egg donors in our program complete extensive screening that may include:

  • Medical history review
  • Family health history review
  • Genetic carrier screening
  • Psychological evaluation
  • Infectious disease screening
  • Fertility evaluation and hormone testing
  • Background review

Final medical approval is always determined by the fertility clinic coordinating the donor cycle.

What the Egg Donation Process Typically Looks Like

While every journey is unique, the egg donation process generally includes:

Initial Consultation

We begin with a conversation about your goals, preferences, and what you are looking for in a donor.

Donor Selection

Intended parents gain access to donor profiles and begin the process of selecting a donor who feels like the right fit.

Match Confirmation

Once a donor is selected and confirmed, next steps are coordinated between the intended parents, donor, and fertility clinic.

Medical & Psychological Screening

The donor completes any additional clinic-required screening before beginning the cycle.

Legal Agreements

Legal contracts are completed between the intended parents and donor with the support of reproductive attorneys.

Donor Cycle & Egg Retrieval

The donor begins medications, undergoes monitoring, and completes the egg retrieval procedure.

Embryo Creation

Retrieved eggs are fertilized with sperm from a partner or donor and embryos are created through IVF.

Support Throughout the Journey

Our team remains available throughout the process to provide guidance, communication, and support. We collaborate closely with fertility clinics and other professionals involved in the journey while helping intended parents feel informed about what to expect along the way. We understand how emotional this process can be at times, and we believe compassionate communication and thoughtful guidance matter just as much as organization and logistics.
